National Team Manager Day is Founded

FlipGive and National Today teamed up to create National Team Manager Day, held annually November 6, to recognize the major role team managers play in helping ensure their teams’ seasons run smoothly and successfully.

2016

FlipGive is Launched

FlipGive, a team funding platform that has taken the fundraising and social giving worlds by storm, launched as Canada's first B Corporation-- a certification that requires companies meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability in their pursuit of maximizing profit and purpose. The platform now enables its members to shop for groceries, gas, and clothing from a number of major retailers.

High School Football Season Starts

As school begins and fall is around the corner, high school football season starts to pick up speed as they prep for the opening kickoff. That's a busy time for team managers, who are often still locking down practice times, fundraising, transportation to away games, and much more.

Little League World Series

The Little League World series is held every August in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Team managers are an integral part to every successful little league team, let alone making sure they have a strong showing at the World Series. With so many teams coming from all corners of the globe, fundraising is a key element to making it there.

AAU sponsors first ever track and field championships for women

Up until then, women were not allowed to compete in athletic events sanctioned by the AAU. The inclusion of women into the sporting lexicon has created more opportunities for team managers throughout history to make sure that all youth athletes have the resources they need to succeed.

The creation of the AAU

The Amateur Athletic Union was created in 1888 by James E. Sullivan, establishing itself as one of the most influential amateur sports leagues in the United States. Many future Olympians and professional athletes got their start being introduced to their sport of choice by none other than dedicated team managers for AAU club teams in a variety of sports.
